Santa Monica jobs run the full spectrum. We drop bins on the dense residential blocks north of Montana, the apartment-heavy corridors along Wilshire and Pico, and the bungalow neighborhoods near Sunset Park and Ocean Park. Access matters more in Santa Monica than most cities. Alleys are tight, street parking is competitive, and a lot of driveways are short. Public street placement falls under City of Santa Monica jurisdiction rather than LADOT, so the permit process is its own thing. We coordinate around all of it so the bin lands where it needs to.

Standard rental is 8 days from the day we drop it off. That covers most remodels and cleanouts without anyone feeling rushed. If you need more time, just let us know at least 2 business days before your scheduled pickup and we’ll extend it. Easy to arrange if you call ahead.

No hazardous stuff: wet paint, solvents, motor oil, batteries, tires, or fridges with freon still in them. Dried, fully hardened paint in a can is fine, it’s the liquid that’s the problem. Electronics sometimes need special handling, so ask first. Household junk, construction debris, yard waste, and remodel materials are all good to go.

If the bin sits on your driveway or private property in 90401, no permit needed. If it has to go on a public street, the City of Santa Monica public works department issues the permit, not LADOT. Either the homeowner or your contractor pulls it. We can walk you through what’s required.

We deal with tight Santa Monica driveways all the time. A 3 yard or 9 yard usually fits where bigger bins can’t. If access is really tight, we can stage the bin and shuttle debris. Snap a quick photo of your driveway and text it over. We’ll tell you exactly what fits.

For a standard residential bin, no special coastal commission permits are required. Street placement still needs the regular City of Santa Monica permit. If your project is right on the beach side or in a tight oceanfront block, just give us extra lead time so we can plan the drop and pickup around access.
