Lake Balboa sits right in the middle of the San Fernando Valley, tucked between Van Nuys and Encino with the 405 to the east and the 101 just south. Most of what we haul here comes from the flat residential streets around Balboa Park and the Sepulveda Basin, single-family homes built in the postwar Valley boom that are now getting kitchen redos, bath gut-jobs, and full repipes. We also see a steady mix of garage cleanouts and yard waste loads, especially after windstorms come through the basin. Access is generally easy since lots are wide and driveways are long, but a few of the older streets near Victory Blvd and Balboa Blvd are tight, so we always ask about parking and overhead wires before drop-off.

Our standard rental period is 8 days from the day we drop it off. That covers most home projects without a rush. If you need more time, just give us a heads-up at least 2 business days before your scheduled pickup and we’ll extend it. Last-minute extensions get tricky once the truck is already routed.

No hazardous stuff: wet paint, solvents, motor oil, batteries, tires, or refrigerators with freon still in them. Dried, hardened paint in the can is fine, it’s only liquid paint that’s a problem. Electronics may need special handling so ask first. Regular household junk, construction debris, yard waste, and remodel materials are all good to go.

If the bin sits on your driveway or private property, no permit needed. If it has to go on a public street in 91406, you’ll need an LADOT street-use permit. Either the homeowner or the contractor can pull it. It’s a straightforward process, just don’t skip it because LADOT does ticket unpermitted bins.

Yes, absolutely. Just tell us at booking which direction you want the rear access doors facing, toward the street, the garage, or the back yard. We note it on the dispatch ticket so the driver sets it correctly the first time. Handy when you’re loading from one side or backing a Bobcat up to it.

Yep, mixed loads are totally fine. Throw your drywall, old furniture, flooring, and yard clippings in the same bin. The one exception is clean inert material like concrete, dirt, or asphalt only. Those need a separate clean-inert bin to keep dump fees down. If you’re not sure what category your load falls into, just call and ask.
